Welcome to ‘Gumboots & Love’
My name is Jennifer, and I am the girl behind the blog.

So who am I? Well I was born and raised in a small town in Ontario, Canada. In my mid-twenties I met the love of my life – on the other side of the world! So after two years of traveling back and forth between New Zealand and Canada, I made the decision to quit my job, sell my condo and leave my city life behind for rural New Zealand. And I have never looked back! Best decision of my life.

My partner and I, purchased a small farm on the South Island of New Zealand, where we graze lambs and calves. Not having grown up on a farm, but in the country, I am still learning everyday and some of my experiences are rather funny, if not short of hilarious, as I try to navigate my way through helping manage our small ‘station’, with two baby girls strapped to my hips and two dogs and cat in tow.

We have two girls, a toddler and a baby. I would not change it for the world and love being a mum. They teach me more each day. Having a baby changes you in the best way possible, but it is true about what they say, I wear my heart on the outside of my body everyday now and would do anything for these two little munckins. Raising girls is a privilege and I am hoping to document the daily challenges and experiences.

Thanks for stopping by. It means so much to me that you took the time to read my blog and invest in our lives. I will respond to all questions and comments in the comments area and look forward to hearing from you.

Stay Strong
